Courageous Advocacy
Nurturing Courageous Advocates
At Padbury Church of England School, we encourage our children to become courageous advocates, individuals who show compassion, speak up for others and take positive action when they see a need in the world around them. Rooted in our Christian values of Love and Kindness, Respect, Courage, Self-Control and Trust, we inspire children to develop a strong sense of justice, empathy and responsibility.
We believe that every child has the potential to make a difference. Through collective worship, our curriculum, charity work and daily school life, children learn that their voice matters and that even small acts of kindness and service can have a lasting impact. We encourage them to think deeply about the needs of others, challenge unfairness where appropriate and act with courage and compassion.
Our aim is to help children grow into thoughtful individuals who are confident in their beliefs, respectful of others and prepared to contribute positively to their communities and the wider world.
"Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy."
Proverbs 31:8-9
Developing Responsible Citizens
At Padbury, we want children to understand that they are valued members of both our school family and the wider community. We encourage them to take responsibility for their actions, care for others and recognise the positive influence they can have on those around them.
Children are given opportunities to share their views, contribute ideas and take on leadership responsibilities within school. Through roles such as School Council representatives, House Captains and other pupil leadership opportunities, children learn how to work collaboratively, listen to others and help bring about positive change.
By nurturing confidence and independence, we empower children to become active participants in school life and responsible citizens who understand the importance of serving others.
Supporting Others Through Action
Living out our values of Love and Kindness and Respect means helping those in need and supporting causes that matter. Throughout the year, our school community comes together to raise awareness and funds for local, national and global charities.
Through fundraising, community projects and acts of service, children learn that they can make a meaningful difference to the lives of others. These experiences help them develop empathy, gratitude and a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by different communities.
Fostering Global Citizens
We are committed to helping our children develop an understanding of their place within an increasingly connected world. We want them to appreciate and celebrate diversity, recognise our shared humanity and understand the responsibilities that come with being part of a global community.
Our Christian values encourage children to treat all people with Respect, demonstrate Love and Kindness, show Courage when standing up for what is right, exercise Self-Control in their choices and build Trust through honesty and integrity.
By developing an awareness of local and global issues, children learn that they can play a positive role in caring for others and looking after the world God has entrusted to us. We hope our pupils leave Padbury as confident, compassionate and thoughtful young people who are ready to make a positive difference wherever life takes them.
